Trips have descriptors – Easy, Moderate, and Independent – which indicate the degree of mobility [walking, standing, stepping, etc.] required in order to safely participate and enjoy the trip.
Please note: There is a $10 fee charged for trip cancellations. If a trip requires pre-paid tickets or entry fees, you cannot be reimbursed if you cancel from the trip OR if Taylor needs to cancel the trip due to weather conditions that make driving unsafe. Non-residents pay a $10 fee for going on Taylor Community trips.
Thursday – August 7 – Trip to the Laconia Main Street Outdoor Market. Celebrating its 5th year, this is located in the municipal parking lot between Pleasant and Main Streets. The market features vegetables, milk, meats, cheese, soap, breads, cookies, wine, crafts and gifts. There is also live entertainment. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 2:30 p.m. (Easy – walking on level pavement)
Saturday – August 9 –This is the oldest craft fair in NH. Shop more than 200 individual craft booths, stroll through the new sculpture garden, and enjoy a variety of performing arts by some of New England's finest musicians, storytellers and theater groups. Tickets are $8, and can be purchased at the gate. We will be stopping in Concord for supper on the way home. There was an early sign-up for this trip so check with Sue for seating availability. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 9 a.m. There will be a pick-up stop at the Concord bus station between 9:45 and 10 a.m. (Independent – a lot of optional walking)
Wednesday – August 13 – Dining Out at T-Bones. When they say it's “homemade,” they mean from scratch. At T-Bones they develop all their own recipes, making every sauce, soup, salad dressing and dessert. Their kitchen is stocked with fresh ingredients, most often from NH-based companies. The service is always friendly and fast. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 4:45 p.m. (Easy)
Friday – August 15 – New London Barn Playhouse Production of “Kiss Me Kate.” This is one of Cole Porter's most successful musicals and has been enchanting audiences for over 65 years. Early sign-up was offered and tickets have been purchased for this trip. Please call Sue @ 366-1226 for ticket availability. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 12:15 p.m. (Easy)
Monday – August 18 – Trip for Dessert at Jordan's Ice Creamery. Home-made ice cream at its best. Sugar-free options are available. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 6 p.m. (Easy)
Friday – August 22 – All Aboard! Conway Scenic Notch Trip on the Hattie Evans, the newest Dining Car. You will enjoy a 5-½ hour ride from Conway to Fabyan's Station and back while relaxing in first-class seating, receiving complimentary cheese and crackers and then being served a three-course lunch. Enjoy the great mountain views this ride has to offer. Early sign-up was offered for this trip and tickets were purchased in advance so please call Sue Williams @ 366-1226 for ticket availability at this time. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia Campus at 9:30 a.m. (Easy)
Monday – August 25 – Winnipesaukee Playhouse Production of “Talley's Folly.” This Pulitzer prize-winning romance is set in a small Missouri town where, under the backdrop off WWII, Jewish Immigrant Matt Friedman comes to woo the reclusive and awkward Sally Talley, who is from a genteel Southern family. This American Theatre tale is about two people finding love when it is least expected. Early sign-up was offered for this trip and tickets have been purchased. Please call Sue Williams @ 366-1226 for ticket availability. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 1 p.m. (Easy)
Tuesday – August 26 – Coach Trip to Casco Bay for the Sunset Lighthouse Cruise. This trip had an early sign-up and tickets have been purchased. There is currently a wait list but you may contact the Moultonborough Recreation Department for ticket availability. For those who signed up early the bus will begin picking up on the Laconia Campus at 12:45 p.m.
Saturday – August 30 – Laconia Farmers’ Market. Meet your local farmers and shop from a wonderful selection of produce, baked goods, cheese, meats, soaps seafood and crafts. Celebrating its 41st year, the market is located in the City Hall parking lot and is dedicated to providing the Lakes Region with fresh locally grown and made products. Organic and Gluten-Free products are available. The market is open rain or shine. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 7:45 a.m. (Easy – walking on level pavement)
